READERS LETTERS AND EDITORIAL RESPONSES
2/23/06:jmcgee:Norcross,GA::.....Thought I'd send a word about your site. Good site. Ran across it through a friend of mine from Atlanta. I like your sense of humor. Going into my favorite file.
ED:Thanks. I need all the support I can get. I've have wanted to do this for some time. I really think each of us can make a difference. I’m trying.
3/26/06:raster:sacramento,CA: Good site...bizarre humor. My kind of guy. Best of luck.
ED: Thanks Raster. I just try and call them as I see them. No one can ever call me two faced 'cause if I had two I certainly wouldn't be wearing this one.
3/29/06:wastcow:???? You have strange thoughts. I'm (?) not agree with you. I think if I meet you I would poke give you finger.
ED: Hey, waste cow, or whatever! Thanks for writing. You have the honor of being the first member of my "I've Got A Broken Hammer" club. I'd suggest that if you're going to meet me with that attitude, you'd better bring old clothes.
5/28/06:kiml:??Ohio::Are you one of those angry white males I read about?
ED: Thanks for visiting my site. To answer your question(s):
WHITE ?: A darker variation of. Does it make a difference?
ANGRY ?: You bet! That's the reason for this site.
MALE ?: Absolutely! No DNA test or diversity training required.
9/2/06: ralphg:Aurora, CO::I like your site. I've read some articles here I haven't heard about anywhere else. Even my wife reads it. Hope you stay around for awhile.
ED:Thanks,Ralph. I'll be around for awhile. The only place I might go is to meet Waste Cow above.
2/5/07:PixieL:Boca Raton, FL::I read your article on the feminization of boys in our schools. I thought that it was very interesting but I would disagree with your conclusions. I may be prejudiced because I am a teacher but I think that you are mistaking "feminization", with the concept of teaching a student - boy or girl - that differences are ok and that diversity in approaches to teaching and learning are not only acceptable but preferable......
ED: Thanks for your letter. First of all let me say that the article you are referring to was not written by me. It was written by Don Closson of Probe Ministries International located in Richardson, Texas. I did do an intro commentary on it. I will say, however, that I am in agreement with Mr. Closson and his conclusions.
I respect you as a teacher and think that teaching is a great profession. But I do feel that some female teachers, (and I'm going to guess that with an email name of 'pixie' that you are a female teacher,...but then you never know) have problems with some boys for no reason other than the fact that they are boys and do what boys do.
I have an middle school aged son and I will say that I send him to school to become educated and not "diversified'. 2 plus 2 is ALWAYS 4 no matter how diversified you are. It is ALWAYS 4 no matter what gender you are. It is ALWAYS 4 no matter what color you are.
In my opinion it is the job of the educational system to teach him that 2 plus 2 equals 4 and to leave the diversity training to me. My wife and I will raise OUR child to meet OUR family goals and expectations for him and the schools. Diversity training may have its' place but not in school as part of the curriculum.
I truly believe that as a nation we have become so obsessed with diversity that we no longer remember who we really are.
Pixie, I'd suggest that you take a time out and go back and read Mr. Closson's article. Keep an open mind.
